Michael Ballack’s agent can sue Boateng

Posted by admin On May - 24 - 2010

michael ballack's agent can sue boatengMichael Becker, agent for Michael Ballack, is contemplating to take legal actions against Portsmouth midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng. Ballack was ruled out of the FIFA World Cup to be held in South Africa after a reckless challenge by Boateng in the FA Cup final.

Becker in an interview with Bild said that the act of Boateng was clearly an intention to hurt Ballack and an apology by Boateng is not enough.

From ESPNStar.com:

Michael Becker, who is in charge of Ballack, is clearly not satisfied with Boateng’s apology to German captain and has claimed that the his client is set to suffer a €1 million loss of revenue from sponsors and bonuses after the influential midfielder is ruled out of the World Cup, thanks Boateng’s reckless challenge in the FA Cup final.

Becker is also adamant that Ghanaian had no intention to play the ball during his challenge on Ballack.

“Every spectator has seen what Boateng did. That was clearly a foul with the intention to hurt Ballack. We are considering taking legal action,” said Becker in an interview with Bild.

“We are thinking about taking the case to civil court, but criminal punishment is also an option. You can’t just intentionally break the rules to hurt your opponent. It’s not like a football field is a place where the law doesn’t count, unlike what Boateng thinks.”

It is worth noting here that Boateng has been named as Germany’s enemy number 1 ever since his reckless challenge forced Ballack, the Captain of Germany, to get ruled out of the World Cup.

Unlike any other business in the United States, sports must preserve an illusion of perfect innocence. The mounting of this illusion defines the purpose and accounts for the immense wealth of American sports. It is the ceremony of innocence that the fans pay to see — not the game or the match or the bout, but the ritual portrayal of a world in which time stops and all hope remains plausible, in which everybody present can recover the blameless expectations of a child, where the forces of light always triumph over the powers of darkness. – Lewis H. Lapham

In sport, mental imagery is used primarily to help you get the best out of yourself in training and competition. The developing athletes who make the fastest progress and those who ultimately become their best make extensive use of mental imagery. They use it daily as a means of directing what will happen in training, and as a way of pre-experiencing their best competition performances. – Terry Orlick

There is no greater honor than the one received by athletes the moment they see the raised flag of their country at the highest level, and when they hear their national anthem inundating every corner of the stadium and reaching the ends of the earth. – Voula Patoulidou

Sport inevitably creates deadness of feeling. No one could take pleasure in it who was sensitive to suffering; and therefore its pursuit by women is much more to be regretted than its pursuit by men, because women pursue much more violently and recklessly what they pursue at all. – Ouida

I don’t think I can be expected to take seriously any game which takes less than three days to reach its conclusion. – Tom Stoppard

Adversity cause some men to break; others to break records. – William Arthur Ward

Sports do not build character. They reveal it. – John Wooden

I run because it’s my passion, and not just a sport. Every time I walk out the door, I know why I’m going where I’m going and I’m already focused on that special place where I find my peace and solitude. Running, to me, is more than just a physical exercise… it’s a consistent reward for victory!  – Sasha Azevedo

How many charming talents have been spoiled by the instilled desire to do ‘important’ work! Some people are born to lift heavy weights. Some are born to juggle with golden balls. – Max Beerbohm

There are people who think that wrestling is an ignoble sport. Wrestling is not sport, it is a spectacle, and it is no more ignoble to attend a wrestled performance of suffering than a performance of the sorrows of Arnolphe or Andromaque. – Roland Barthes

So you wish to conquer in the Olympic games, my friend? And I too, by the Gods, and a fine thing it would be! But first mark the conditions and the consequences, and then set to work. You will have to put yourself under discipline; to eat by rule, to avoid cakes and sweetmeats; to take exercise at the appointed hour whether you like it or no, in cold and heat; to abstain from cold drinks and from wine at your will; in a word, to give yourself over to the trainer as to a physician. Then in the conflict itself you are likely enough to dislocate your wrist or twist your ankle, to swallow a great deal of dust, or to be severely thrashed, and, after all these things, to be defeated. – Epictetus

Cytadren – Leader among Aromatase Inhibitors!

Posted by admin On March - 6 - 2010

Cytadren - Leader among Aromatase Inhibitors!Cytadren, also known as Aminoglutethimide, is an effective aromatase inhibitor. Let us read how Cytadren proves its worth in the world of sports.

Cytadren can be best classified as an inhibitor of an enzyme required for steroid production in the body, desmolase. Cytadren is primarily used during PCT (post cycle therapy) as an antiestrogen. Use of this anti-estrogen is of great significance when harsh or aromatizable steroids are used as the risks of fluid retention and gynecomastia are higher with these types of steroids. This is the time when Cytadren comes into the picture. It inhibits the conversion of cholesterol to pregnenolone and eliminates the formation of estrogens, without any side effects.

Cytadren is also admired by sportsmen for its unique anti-depressive properties, which can be of great use during a troubled emotional state prior to a competitive event. If that was not all, Cytadren is used in the world of bodybuilding and sports when dieting is required before a contest. This drug is of significant use when the circulating androgens are totally replaced by synthetic androgens during the dieting stage and before the contest.

Tips and Precautions

The recommended dose of Cytadren is 100-200 mg/day, with or without meals. The use of Cytadren must be initiated only after a medical advice. In case some abnormalities are experienced after using Cytadren, the usage should be immediately stopped and the same should be brought to the notice of a qualified medical practitioner on an immediate basis.

We hope that this blog on Cytadren, the aromatase inhibitor, was useful to you in more than just a way.

Physical Performance is not improved by growth hormone

Posted by admin On September - 13 - 2009

Physical Performance is not improved by growth hormoneAccording to a new dissertation from the Sahlgrenska Academy at Göteborg University in Sweden, injecting growth hormone (GH) is not effective at all if the GH user wants to build muscle mass or enhance physical performance.

It is worthwhile to note here that doping in sports using the growth hormone traces back to the mid 1980s. However, GH does not bring the same benefits or aggressive behavior as anabolic steroids. On the other hand, growth hormone can cause severe side effects such as damage to the blood vessels and heart.

From News-Medical.Net:

“Many of those who abuse anabolic steroids regard growth hormone as the Rolls Royce of doping agents: it is significantly more expensive to use than anabolic steroids. There is, however, no scientific evidence that it increases performance when used alone as a doping agent”, says Dr. Christer Ehrnborg.

Christer Ehrnborg has studied 30 well-trained people living in Göteborg. Twenty of these injected large doses of growth hormone each day for a month, while the other 10 believed that they also were receiving growth hormone but received injections of harmless saline solution instead. Tests of the participants’ physical performance on an exercise cycle showed that the participants receiving growth hormone did not perform better than those receiving saline solution.

“It has been a matter of controversy whether growth hormone actually causes an effect or whether it is a matter involving mass psychology. Both our study and studies carried out by others suggest that taking growth hormone will not make you a better athlete”, says Christer Ehrnborg.

It was remarked by Christer Ehrnborg that athletes injecting growth hormones tend to experience immediate effect in the body and believe that GH must improve their physical performance. But that’s not the case as there is no effect of increased muscle mass from the growth hormone as per the conducted experiments.

Role of a Fitness Instructor

Posted by admin On July - 21 - 2009

Role of a Fitness InstructorNo one of us is a jack of all trades when it comes to different tasks. While many of may be masters when it comes to financial matters, many of us may be experts in health matters. This is the reason why it is said that the specialty is individualistic and this is the reason why specialists like teachers and instructors are living in this society. Just like teachers are required for the grooming of future citizens, health instructors are required for grooming healthy citizens.

In today’s times, the roles of a fitness instructor have changed a lot and a modern day instructor is not just an aerobic guide. He is the expert who makes thoughtful plans for guiding an individual towards sound health and betterment; he is the one who undertakes every task from motivation to chalking down plan-B in case of any changed circumstances. In addition to that, a fitness instructor is also responsible to treat all of his health students in an equal manner and ensuring that they stay away from all kinds of possible ailments. He is the one who clears all second thoughts about health and supplements and he is also the one who facilitates a fun-filled, rigorous, and motivated health environment.

A modern day fitness instructor (in the United States) is expected to have certification from governing bodies such as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), The Cooper Institute (CI), American Council on Exercise (ACE), National Council on Strength and Fitness (NCSF), or Scirion Institute of Exercise Physiology (SIEP) to name a few. This will help him in understanding and responding well to grueling demands of modern day health schedules and conforming to them without any deviations besides ensuring that genuine and informed health instructors are offering their services.

Today’s fitness instructors are spending a lot of their times on research and development pertaining to health and betterment and this is the reason how they develop interesting and beneficial muscle building and endurance training modules. They also work on the safety factor so that no one is injured or caught unaware of safety measures.

This is the reason why fitness instructors are required to have a complete insight about varying types of exercise and their pros and cons. They need to be medically aware so that any guidance offered by them does not lead to an ailment or injury. In addition to that, they need to be helpful and clear in the thoughts to avoid any kind of ambiguous knowledge while transferring information. And, they also need to have a good knowledge of first-aid techniques to help any one in their learning class just in case any mishap happens.

After studying so much about a fitness instructor, we would be surely benefited in more than just one way.

Sports and Health

Posted by admin On July - 14 - 2009

Sports and HealthNo one in today’s times has the time and patience to create and sustain a sporting “invincibility” to stay ahead of the competition. Invincibility, which is referred to as a continuing string of wins and success” in the sporting world, is desired by one and all. However, the problem arises when sports and health that are co-related are treated alone and not jointly.

It is important for every one in the sporting arena that health and sports are two sides of the same coin. This is because while a healthy body paves the way for success feats, an under-nourished or fatigued body increases the risk of injury and failure. Therefore, it is almost imperative for every modern-day sportsmen, including bodybuilders and professional athletes, to pay high attention to their health and diet regimen. This is because they cannot even dream of having success in the world of sports if their body is not good enough for competing and winning the battle on its own.

In order to reap optimum benefits in the sporting world, a sportsman must follow a strictly-followed diet and health regimen that does not include habits such as irregular sleep, use of harmful steroids, alcohol, and smoking. A religiously followed health chart along with determination can go a long way in ensuring success for a sportsman. It is essential to remember that success and failure happen to each sportsman and a string of successes and failures do not mean that wrong ways of winning be adopted. It is always better to lose a game or two by being true to yourself rather than going for wrong ways to dig a bigger grave.
